Amanda and Bobby’s wedding story continued this September with a beautiful reception at the Newport Naval Officer’s Club, and it felt like the perfect sequel to their intimate June ceremony in Newton. While their first celebration focused on family, faith, and the quiet beauty of a Sunday afternoon vows, their Newport reception brought together vibrant cultural traditions, heartfelt moments, and one of the most unforgettable sunsets I have ever seen.

Their reception day began under gray skies as steady rain settled over the base. Newport is known for its sweeping coastal views and endless photo opportunities, and we had all hoped to use the large lawn overlooking the water. But like many New England weddings, the weather had its own plans. What could have been a disappointment turned into a beautiful reminder that joy doesn’t weather-check itself. Amanda and Bobby took it all in stride, smiling, laughing, and fully embracing the cozy, romantic feel the rain brought to the day.
Despite the weather, Naval Station Newport provided stunning backdrops for their portraits. The deck overlooking the water gave us shelter, and even on a rainy afternoon the view was classic Newport. The base sits on the west side of Aquidneck Island and offers one of the most iconic perspectives of the Newport Bridge. From this vantage point, you can see the bridge stretching across Narragansett Bay with the Naval War College standing proudly nearby. The bridge is visible from many parts of the station, and even on a cloudy day it remains a breathtaking landmark. It’s no wonder this perspective is one of the most photographed scenes on the base - especially at sunset.

​And, almost magically, sunset delivered. Just when we had accepted that the rain would rule the day, the clouds parted at the perfect moment. A warm glow broke through, casting golden light across the bay and painting the Newport Bridge in hues of pink, orange, and lavender. It was the kind of sunset you remember for years—the kind that feels like a reward for patience. Amanda and Bobby stepped onto the deck once more, and the light wrapped around them in a way that felt meant to be. What started as a rainy, gray day transformed into something extraordinary.

Inside the Officer’s Club, guests were treated to an evening that beautifully celebrated both Amanda’s and Bobby’s cultures. They planned an Indian and Polish fusion reception that felt joyful, colorful, and wonderfully personal. One of the standout moments was the Bali dance performance, which filled the room with movement, rhythm, and such vibrant energy that every guest was captivated. The evening’s menu blended flavors from both of their backgrounds, offering dishes that honored where they each come from. And of course, there was the famous mango lassi - rich, creamy, sweet, and an instant hit with everyone who tried it.
Because this reception was the continuation of their wedding celebration, the events of the night were heartfelt and intentional. Amanda and Bobby shared a beautiful first dance, swaying together under soft lights with the glow of Narragansett Bay behind them. Their connection is gentle and steady, and moments like this always bring that out in such a natural way.

Plymouth, Massachusetts • August 3, 2025
Jenna and Gavin’s wedding day was the kind of Cape Cod summer celebration every couple dreams about, with sunny blue skies, ocean views, and pure joy from beginning to end. Their story with Aprea Media began in a unique way because we hadn’t had the chance to meet them beforehand. They had been living in Hawaii and moved back home shortly before the wedding for school and family. The moment we walked into the getting-ready space, it felt instantly comfortable, as if we had known them for years!

​Our day started in Falmouth at Jenna’s family home on the Cape. There is something so special about getting ready in a place filled with childhood memories. The house was full of happy energy with music playing, bridesmaids laughing, and loved ones popping in to say hello. One of the most heartfelt moments was Jenna and Gavin’s first look on their private dock, surrounded by shimmering water and warm sunshine. It was emotional, intimate, and the perfect way to start their day together.

​From Falmouth, we made our way to White Cliffs Country Club in Plymouth, a breathtaking waterfront venue known for its dramatic cliffs, private beach, and sweeping views of Cape Cod Bay. Couples love White Cliffs for its serene coastal setting, the iconic staircase and tram that lead down to the shoreline, and the way the entire property feels tucked away while still being incredibly accessible for guests. Wedding ceremonies typically take place atop the cliffs with panoramic ocean views, and sunset portraits here are always spectacular. On this particular day, with its bright blue sky and warm sunshine, the whole scene resembled something straight out of Malibu Beach.

After their ceremony overlooking the ocean, we hopped onto the venue’s tiny tram to head down to the beach. The tram only fits four people which included the couple, the tram operator, and me as their photographer. The short ride down gave us a quiet moment before stepping onto the sand for their portraits. Between the soft breeze, the light reflecting off the water, and the way these two smiled at each other, everything aligned for perfect beach photos!

​Their cocktail hour was full of classic New England charm. Guests enjoyed fresh oysters while soaking in those unbeatable coastal views. Later in the evening, Jenna and Gavin chose a unique twist for their wedding cake by serving a cheesecake topped with fresh, delicious fruits. It was a beautiful and personal choice that fit their relaxed, summer-by-the-ocean celebration perfectly.

The entire day felt easy, joyful, and filled with love. Jenna and Gavin’s wedding was truly magical, and it was an honor to capture their story, their families, and all the moments that made August 3rd unforgettable!

Molly & Fed’s Rainy Day Wedding at The Coachman’s Lodge

Rain on your wedding day may not be everyone’s dream forecast — but for Molly & Fed, it turned out to be the kind of cozy, joy-filled day that we'll be smiling about for a long time. From the very beginning, their wedding was filled with warmth, laughter, and a deep sense of purpose, and we were honored to capture every moment.

​These two got ready at the same hotel, just a few rooms apart — which, from a photography perspective, is such a gift. Instead of splitting up and driving in separate directions, our team was able to take one car, plan together, and arrive at the venue with a clear game plan. Little things like that always help the day flow more smoothly, especially when weather throws in an extra variable or two!

​Despite the chilly rain, spirits were high from the start. Molly & Fed arrived at The Coachman’s Lodge in separate shuttles, giving us a chance to scout their first look location and prepare the space. Molly chose the front room of the lodge, with its stunning stone fireplace, as the perfect intimate setting for that moment. These two saw each other for the first time that day surrounded by warm wood tones, soft light, and quiet excitement. After their emotional first look, they exchanged private vows — one of our favorite trends for couples who want a few meaningful moments to themselves before the ceremony.

​The rain let up just in time for portraits, and we took full advantage! With a little patience and some quick decision-making, we were able to do both their couple portraits and full bridal party portraits outside. The overcast sky actually made for some truly beautiful lighting, and the grounds at The Coachman’s Lodge offered lush greenery and charming backdrops everywhere we turned.

​The ceremony was originally planned for an outdoor space, and we have to give major credit to the staff and coordinator, Danny, for how seamlessly they pivoted the plan. The ceremony was moved under a beautiful arbor-covered area surrounded by thriving plants and soft florals. It was still outside — airy and light — but kept every guest completely dry and comfortable. The lighting was absolutely dreamy, and the vibe was romantic and relaxed.

​After the ceremony, we quickly finished up the remaining family and bridal party portraits, making sure Molly & Fed had plenty of time to enjoy their cocktail hour. That balance — giving our couples great images and letting them soak in time with loved ones — is always our top priority. The rest of the evening flowed with ease. Introductions and the first dance were joyful and full of personality, and the food? Absolutely incredible!

​One thing we always notice and appreciate as wedding vendors is when a venue treats everyone — guests, staff, and vendors alike — with respect. The Coachman’s Lodge stood out to us for so many reasons, but especially for how smoothly they ran their timeline and how thoughtful they were about our team. As photographers, we often hit the 7-hour mark right around dinner time — and when we’re fed at the same time as the couple, it means we’re able to stay ready for speeches, candids, and other key moments without missing a beat. The team at The Coachman’s Lodge made sure we were well taken care of, and it didn’t go unnoticed. We would truly love to work there again!

Sadie and Adam were married on a warm early summer day in Providence, Rhode Island, with their ceremony held at the historic Church of Saint Mary on Broadway. This stunning Gothic Revival church is one of the most beautiful in the area, with its soaring ceilings, intricate stained glass, and reverent atmosphere that made the ceremony feel both sacred and deeply personal.
After their heartfelt "I do's," we stepped outside with their family for portraits—just in time. The skies opened up moments later, and the rain came pouring down, which, as tradition says, brings good luck on a wedding day. (And honestly, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect!)

A Ceremony Full of Heart: The Church of Saint Mary on Broadway was the perfect setting for Sadie and Adam’s ceremony. Stepping into this church feels like stepping into a different time—it’s grand and majestic but still warm and inviting. Portraits + Perfect TimingAfter the ceremony, we took portraits right outside the church with family and the wedding party. The rain held off just long enough for us to wrap up, and while we’re always ready for a backup plan, we’ll never say no to a bit of good timing!
As the drops started to fall, it only added to the atmosphere—there’s something cozy and romantic about a summer rain. And rain on a wedding day? That’s just Mother Nature’s way of blessing the marriage.

A Warm + Joyful Reception at Cucina RusticaFrom there, the party moved to Cucina Rustica, a charming and cozy Italian restaurant in Johnston, RI. The intimate atmosphere, incredible food, and welcoming staff made it the perfect space to celebrate with their closest friends and family.
The reception was filled with laughter, heartfelt speeches, and a first dance that melted our hearts. Sadie and Adam twirled across the dance floor like they were the only two people in the room. It was a beautiful reminder of why we love what we do—these small but monumental moments of joy that are gone in a flash but preserved forever in photos.
The cake, created by @frontlinecafebakery, was as beautiful as it was delicious, and the cutting moment got the whole crowd cheering. Every detail felt intentional and full of love—from the floral touches to the music to the way Sadie and Adam lit up every room they walked into.

Amanda and Bobby’s intimate ceremony at the Evangelical Baptist Church in Newton, Massachusetts, was a beautiful example of just that. Rather than hosting a large celebration right away, Amanda and Bobby chose to have a small, private ceremony surrounded by their closest family, friends, and church community. The decision felt intentional and personal—reflecting their values and their deep connection to the place where they’ve built their life together. The Evangelical Baptist Church, where the ceremony was held, is not just any venue to them—it’s their spiritual home. The timing was also unique: the service took place just after Sunday worship, adding a layer of spiritual significance and familiarity to the day.

Amanda prepared for the ceremony in the church’s basement, which was transformed into a cozy getting-ready space with the help of her family. Her two sisters, parents, nieces, and Bobby’s daughter all gathered around to help her get ready. There was laughter, lots of sweet moments, and the kind of gentle chaos that makes a wedding morning feel alive. Watching Amanda with her nieces and Bobby’s daughter emphasized how deeply this union is rooted in family. Her chapel-length veil took the most time and patience to place—there were several attempts to get it just right, and everyone pitched in to make sure it looked perfect.

Sailing Into Forever: Casey & Dongho’s Sunny May Wedding Aboard the Lexington
On May 3, 2025, Casey and Dongho brought their closest family and friends together for a joyful, sun-soaked wedding celebration on Boston Harbor—aboard the Lexington, the Charles Riverboat Company’s largest and most charming paddle wheel vessel. Against the odds of a rainy forecast, the skies stayed clear and bright throughout the day, setting the stage for a truly magical afternoon on the water.

From Travel to “I Do”
Casey and Dongho’s love story began with a shared spirit of adventure. They met while traveling—one of those serendipitous moments that turns a trip into a life-changing memory. Dongho is originally from South Korea, and his family traveled to Boston to celebrate alongside the couple. His wonderful mother wore a beautiful hanbok, a traditional Korean dress that added a meaningful and elegant cultural touch to the day.

Aboard the Lexington: Boston’s Most Unique Wedding Venue
Departing from Rowes Wharf, the Lexington is a 75-foot, two-level paddle wheel boat that cruises Boston Harbor with both style and spaciousness. It offers the best of both worlds—an open-air upper deck with stunning views of the city skyline and a cozy, elegant interior level perfect for dining and dancing. The late morning ceremony and early afternoon reception allowed guests to enjoy the harbor at its most vibrant, bathed in golden spring light.
The Charles Riverboat staff, as always, went above and beyond. We love photographing weddings with them—their coordination is seamless, and they bring such a welcoming energy to every event. It’s no surprise that Lexington weddings have become some of our favorites (we have one more here this fall)!

A Sweet & Sunny Ceremony
Although rain had been in the forecast, the sun had other plans. The entire celebration took place under bright, blue skies. Because it was so sunny, we opted to photograph Casey and Dongho’s family portraits in the shaded areas near the wharf before boarding. It ended up being the perfect solution—soft, flattering light and a relaxed moment before the festivities began.
Their ceremony was short, sweet, and filled with personality. A close friend officiated, creating a warm, familiar tone that had everyone smiling. The vows were heartfelt, and Dongho had the whole crowd laughing at one point—his sense of humor and charm coming through effortlessly. The couple’s joy was palpable, and being surrounded by the sparkling harbor only made it more special.

Cocktails, Skyline Views & Heartfelt Speeches
After the ceremony, guests were treated to cocktails on the upper deck. The gentle breeze, panoramic city views, and clinking of glasses made for an atmosphere that was both elegant and completely relaxed. The Lexington feels spacious even with a full guest list, giving everyone room to move, mingle, and enjoy.

Casey and Dongho chose a buffet-style reception catered by Johnny Burke Catering Company, who, as always, delivered an incredible spread. The buffet was both approachable and elevated, with something for everyone. It allowed guests to enjoy their meal at their own pace, keeping the mood easy and celebratory.
Dessert was especially memorable—a perfect pairing of local flavor and sweet indulgence. Guests enjoyed mini Boston cream pies (because what’s more fitting than that on the harbor?) and little cannolis that disappeared quickly. It was the kind of dessert table that had people sneaking back for seconds (and we don’t blame them).

A First Dance to Remember
Casey and Dongho’s first dance was anything but traditional—it was fun, lively, and had everyone clapping along. It felt like a true reflection of them: full of joy, slightly unexpected, and completely in the moment. With the sun still shining and the city glimmering in the distance, it was one of those moments you don’t forget. We will personally never forget Casey surprising her mom with a Mother-Daughter dance! Talk about emotional!
As the dance floor opened up, guests moved between decks, enjoying the music, the views, and the final golden hour light. It wasn’t until the celebration wound down and everyone was disembarking that the first drops of rain finally started to fall. Talk about perfect timing.

On April 18th, 2025, under the golden light of a Friday afternoon, Daynna and Mike finally said “I do” after 18 incredible years together. Their wedding day at Grazina Event Venue in Norwood, MA wasn’t about tradition—it was about celebrating the life they’ve already built together, surrounded by their closest friends and family. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this wasn’t just a wedding—it was a long-awaited party full of laughter, dancing, heartfelt moments, and some of the best hors d'oeuvres we’ve ever tasted.

Getting Ready at the Four Points Norwood
Our afternoon started just a few minutes from home, which is always such a gift. Daynna got ready at the Four Points by Sheraton in Norwood, and I was immediately struck by how beautiful and calm the space was. She was surrounded by her mother and sister - the atmosphere was warm, supportive, and full of anticipation! The natural light pouring into the room was perfect for capturing those quiet, joyful getting-ready moments—zipping up the dress, final makeup touches, and the calm before the celebration officially began.
The hotel itself is so well-designed for weddings: clean lines, spacious suites, and a sense of ease that matched Daynna’s vibe completely. She was radiant, and there was a quiet excitement in the air—not nerves, but something closer to gratitude. After all, this day had been years in the making.

Grazina: A Hidden Gem in Norwood
Grazina Event Venue felt like the perfect space for Daynna and Mike’s vision. Sleek, modern, and filled with light, it’s one of those places that doesn’t need much dressing up. It has that warm feeling in an old mill space with warm brick walls and industrial lights. They kept it simple—letting the love in the room (and the energy of the guests!) bring everything to life.
What made this wedding so memorable wasn’t just the location, but how comfortable everything felt. Because the couple lives locally, everything was within easy driving distance. No long commutes or last-minute logistics—just a smooth, seamless transition from getting ready to celebration. It allowed everyone, including us as their photo team, to focus on the joy of the day instead of the schedule.

But the standout? The stuffed mushrooms. Truly unforgettable. Flavorful, perfectly cooked, and the ideal balance of comfort food and elevated cuisine. It’s rare for us to rave about a specific appetizer, but these mushrooms deserve their own spotlight. Even our team couldn’t stop talking about them the next day!

A Night of Connection
The evening was full of everything you hope for as a wedding photographer—genuine hugs, joyful reunions, and dance moves that didn’t quit. The reception felt more like a family reunion than a formal wedding, which speaks volumes to the kind of community Daynna and Mike have built around them. You could feel the love in every toast, every embrace, and every step on the dance floor. Speeches were short but packed with sentiment, and the guests clearly knew how to celebrate.
