Pricing & booking
How much does a wedding photographer cost with Aprea Media?
An 8-hour wedding package is $4,200 and includes both of us photographing your day. If you want more or less coverage than that, we also book hourly at $525 per hour. We publish our pricing openly because you shouldn't have to send an email just to find out whether we're in your budget.
How do we book you, and what do you need up front?
A signed contract and a 20% retainer hold your date. The remaining balance is due before the wedding. We're currently booking 2027 and 2028 weddings.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book us about 13 months before their wedding date. That said, reach out as soon as you have a date — availability is the only thing we can't create more of.
Are you available for our date?
We take a limited number of weddings a year so we're never stretched thin on anyone's day. Send us your date through the contact form and we'll tell you straight away whether we're free.
What you get
Do we get one photographer or two?
Two, always, for the same price. Sarah and John are a husband-and-wife team and we both photograph every wedding — a second shooter isn't an upgrade here. It means we can cover two things happening at once: both partners getting ready in separate rooms, or the ceremony from two angles.
How many photos will we get?
On average we deliver about 100 images per hour of coverage, though the exact number varies with your package, guest count and venue.
How long until we get our wedding photos?
Your full gallery is delivered within 6 weeks, and we send a sneak peek of our favorite images much sooner.
Will you edit all of our pictures?
Yes. Every image is edited for color, exposure and sharpness. Your top 20 favorites also get extra retouching at no additional cost.
How we work
What is your photography style?
Documentary. We spend most of the day photographing what's actually happening rather than staging it, so the gallery you get back looks like your wedding instead of a shot list. We adapt to what you want: some couples want us guiding them through the day, others want us essentially invisible. Both are fine, and we'll ask which you prefer well before the day arrives.
What areas do you serve, and do you charge travel fees?
We're based in Norwood, Massachusetts. There's no travel fee within 60 miles — that covers Boston, the South Shore, Providence, and most of eastern Massachusetts. Past 60 miles we add a travel fee. We also photograph destination weddings; we've shot as far out as Joshua Tree National Park.

If your venue isn't on the list, that's not a problem — we scout anywhere we haven't worked before.
Do you offer engagement sessions?
Yes, throughout Boston, Massachusetts, southern Maine and Rhode Island. They're the best way to get comfortable in front of a camera before the wedding, and it shows in the wedding photos.
Do you photograph anything besides weddings?
Yes — family sessions across New England, and elopements. Our work has been featured by Boston.com, WCVB, WGBH Magazine, JewishBoston.com and the Boston Chronicle.
Do you also offer video?
We focus exclusively on photography, but we do capture phone video throughout the day that works well for Instagram Reels and stories.
Peace of mind
What's your backup plan if you can't photograph our wedding?
In 10 years we have never cancelled a wedding. We also keep a trusted network of fellow photographers who could step in for us in a true emergency.
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes. We carry liability insurance and can provide a certificate of insurance if your venue requires one.
