Exciting News: We’re Featured on the Newly Relaunched Carats & Cake! We’re thrilled to share that Aprea Media is one of the very first vendors to have a newly updated professional listing on Carats & Cake, a wedding platform that’s undergoing a major transformation—and we are here for it. Under new ownership, Carats & Cake is positioning itself as a modern, vendor-first alternative to the “big box” wedding websites, and we’re incredibly excited to be part of its fresh direction. What Is Carats & Cake? Carats & Cake started as a beautifully curated wedding inspiration platform, featuring real weddings with top-tier vendor teams. It’s long been known for its editorial quality and elevated aesthetic. But now, it’s evolving into something even more powerful: a thoughtfully designed vendor network that connects couples with professionals without sacrificing personality, professionalism, or privacy. The team behind the relaunch is made up of wedding industry veterans who understand the unique needs of vendors and couples. Their goal? To create a platform that actually helps people find the right fit—not just whoever paid the most for top placement. It’s a refreshing take in a space that’s long been dominated by algorithms, auto-responders, and confusing pay-to-play systems. How It’s Different from The Knot, WeddingWire, and Zola: If you’ve planned a wedding—or work in the industry—you know how frustrating traditional vendor platforms can be. The Knot and WeddingWire (which are now one company) prioritize mass exposure, but their listings often blur together. Customization is limited, and couples can quickly get overwhelmed by endless, repetitive listings that all start to sound the same. And then there’s Zola. Once an innovative registry platform, Zola has expanded into the vendor directory space—but not in a way that’s helped businesses like ours. In fact, Zola’s lead system has crushed our ability to connect with real couples. Instead of receiving genuine inquiries, we get hit with impersonal, auto-generated messages like “Hello, are you available?”—messages that often lead nowhere. As wedding professionals, we pour our hearts into what we do. We want to connect with couples who care about that, who want to work with people they trust—not just someone who fits an algorithm. Carats & Cake is building a space where that kind of connection is possible. A Better Experience—for Everyone
With the relaunch, Carats & Cake is focused on making sure vendors shine and that couples get access to clear, inspiring, and truly helpful information. The platform allows for more editorial-style listings, so instead of just a bullet list of services, couples can really get a sense of who we are, what we do, and why we love doing it. We’re hopeful that this new direction will foster more meaningful conversations and better matches—not just more “leads” but the right leads. At Aprea Media, we specialize in wedding photography that captures all the authentic, candid moments that make your day yours. As a husband-and-wife team, we know how personal this journey is, and we believe your wedding vendor search should feel the same way. We’re proud to be among the first wave of professionals featured in Carats & Cake’s updated vendor directory. It feels like the beginning of something that’s going to make a real difference in the wedding world, both for engaged couples and for those of us who work behind the scenes to make it all happen. If you’re planning a wedding and looking for a vendor experience that feels intentional, stylish, and human—give Carats & Cake a look. And check out our listing while you’re there! Here’s to new beginnings—and better wedding planning for everyone.

Molly & Fed’s Rainy Day Wedding at The Coachman’s Lodge Bellingham, Massachusetts Rain on your wedding day may not be everyone’s dream forecast — but for Molly & Fed, it turned out to be the kind of cozy, joy-filled day that we'll be smiling about for a long time. From the very beginning, their wedding was filled with warmth, laughter, and a deep sense of purpose, and we were honored to capture every moment. These two got ready at the same hotel, just a few rooms apart — which, from a photography perspective, is such a gift. Instead of splitting up and driving in separate directions, our team was able to take one car, plan together, and arrive at the venue with a clear game plan. Little things like that always help the day flow more smoothly, especially when weather throws in an extra variable or two! Despite the chilly rain, spirits were high from the start. Molly & Fed arrived at The Coachman’s Lodge in separate shuttles, giving us a chance to scout their first look location and prepare the space. Molly chose the front room of the lodge, with its stunning stone fireplace, as the perfect intimate setting for that moment. These two saw each other for the first time that day surrounded by warm wood tones, soft light, and quiet excitement. After their emotional first look, they exchanged private vows — one of our favorite trends for couples who want a few meaningful moments to themselves before the ceremony. The rain let up just in time for portraits, and we took full advantage! With a little patience and some quick decision-making, we were able to do both their couple portraits and full bridal party portraits outside. The overcast sky actually made for some truly beautiful lighting, and the grounds at The Coachman’s Lodge offered lush greenery and charming backdrops everywhere we turned. The ceremony was originally planned for an outdoor space, and we have to give major credit to the staff and coordinator, Danny, for how seamlessly they pivoted the plan. The ceremony was moved under a beautiful arbor-covered area surrounded by thriving plants and soft florals. It was still outside — airy and light — but kept every guest completely dry and comfortable. The lighting was absolutely dreamy, and the vibe was romantic and relaxed. After the ceremony, we quickly finished up the remaining family and bridal party portraits, making sure Molly & Fed had plenty of time to enjoy their cocktail hour. That balance — giving our couples great images and letting them soak in time with loved ones — is always our top priority. The rest of the evening flowed with ease. Introductions and the first dance were joyful and full of personality, and the food? Absolutely incredible! One thing we always notice and appreciate as wedding vendors is when a venue treats everyone — guests, staff, and vendors alike — with respect. The Coachman’s Lodge stood out to us for so many reasons, but especially for how smoothly they ran their timeline and how thoughtful they were about our team. As photographers, we often hit the 7-hour mark right around dinner time — and when we’re fed at the same time as the couple, it means we’re able to stay ready for speeches, candids, and other key moments without missing a beat. The team at The Coachman’s Lodge made sure we were well taken care of, and it didn’t go unnoticed. We would truly love to work there again! Beyond the beauty of the day and the professionalism of the team, what we’ll remember most is the people. Molly & Fed are the kind of couple that remind you why you do this work. Both work in education and advocacy, and their passion and kindness showed in every interaction — not just with us, but with everyone around them. Their love was reflected in the thoughtfulness of their timeline, the way they cared for their guests, and in how clearly their friends and family adore them. There was also a deeper layer of emotion felt throughout the day — Fed’s family from Haiti couldn’t attend due to the ongoing travel ban. It was clear how much their presence was missed. We made sure to prioritize portraits with the family who could be present, and every image from that part of the day carries extra weight. It was a reminder that weddings are about more than logistics and portraits — they’re about legacy, connection, and honoring the ones we hold closest. Molly & Fed, thank you for inviting us to be part of your day. You made it so easy to document your love — your joy was effortless, your trust meant the world to us, and your story will stay with us. We’re wishing you nothing but the best in your next chapter!

Sadie’s bridal look was classic and elegant, and her calm presence made the whole space feel peaceful. Her hair was styled by the talented @courtneysauer, and her makeup was flawlessly done by @hairbyashleymcfarland—a true glam dream team. The energy in the room was full of laughter and excitement, and you could tell everyone was just genuinely happy to be there celebrating her. One of our favorite parts of any wedding morning is photographing the little things—heirloom jewelry, handwritten vows, the textures of lace and satin, and the quiet in-between moments that set the tone for the day. Sadie’s details were beautifully curated and so full of personality. Ceremony at Church of Saint Mary on BroadwaySome weddings feel like pure magic. Some weddings hit you in the heart a little deeper. And then there are weddings like Sadie and Adam’s—where both are true, and you also get the joy and honor of photographing a beloved family member. This day was incredibly special to us because the bride is not only one of our amazing clients—she’s also our niece. Watching her walk down the aisle and capturing every meaningful moment was something we’ll never forget. Sadie and Adam were married on a warm early summer day in Providence, Rhode Island, with their ceremony held at the historic Church of Saint Mary on Broadway. This stunning Gothic Revival church is one of the most beautiful in the area, with its soaring ceilings, intricate stained glass, and reverent atmosphere that made the ceremony feel both sacred and deeply personal. After their heartfelt "I do's," we stepped outside with their family for portraits—just in time. The skies opened up moments later, and the rain came pouring down, which, as tradition says, brings good luck on a wedding day. (And honestly, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect!) A Ceremony Full of Heart: The Church of Saint Mary on Broadway was the perfect setting for Sadie and Adam’s ceremony. Stepping into this church feels like stepping into a different time—it’s grand and majestic but still warm and inviting. The light filtering through the stained glass gave everything a soft, golden glow, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house during the vows. It was a deeply spiritual ceremony, grounded in faith and family, with music and moments that truly reflected who they are as a couple. Portraits + Perfect TimingAfter the ceremony, we took portraits right outside the church with family and the wedding party. The rain held off just long enough for us to wrap up, and while we’re always ready for a backup plan, we’ll never say no to a bit of good timing! As the drops started to fall, it only added to the atmosphere—there’s something cozy and romantic about a summer rain. And rain on a wedding day? That’s just Mother Nature’s way of blessing the marriage. A Warm + Joyful Reception at Cucina RusticaFrom there, the party moved to Cucina Rustica, a charming and cozy Italian restaurant in Johnston, RI. The intimate atmosphere, incredible food, and welcoming staff made it the perfect space to celebrate with their closest friends and family. The reception was filled with laughter, heartfelt speeches, and a first dance that melted our hearts. Sadie and Adam twirled across the dance floor like they were the only two people in the room. It was a beautiful reminder of why we love what we do—these small but monumental moments of joy that are gone in a flash but preserved forever in photos. The cake, created by @frontlinecafebakery, was as beautiful as it was delicious, and the cutting moment got the whole crowd cheering. Every detail felt intentional and full of love—from the floral touches to the music to the way Sadie and Adam lit up every room they walked into. A Season to Remember: Sadie and Adam’s wedding was one of the highlights of our Spring and early Summer season—not just because of the beautiful locations and stunning portraits, but because it reminded us why we love photographing weddings in the first place. There’s something so special about being entrusted to document these once-in-a-lifetime days, and it means even more when it’s someone you love. Now that all of our Spring and early Summer galleries have officially been delivered (yes, finally caught up for the first time since March!), we’re taking a little time to rest and recharge before we jump into our busiest stretch of the year. From August through November, we’ve got a full calendar of amazing weddings we can’t wait to capture—but we do still have a few open dates for last-minute celebrations or elopements. So if you’re planning something soon, we’d love to hear from you! To Sadie and Adam—thank you for trusting us with your memories. We love you both and are so happy we got to be part of your beginning 💛 VENDOR TEAM
